This application leverages the GPS functionality of your iPhone or iPad to facilitate the mapping, measurement, and recording of locations that are significant to you. Your device functions as a GPS receiver, collecting geographic coordinates wherever you are, provided there is sufficient satellite visibility. Consequently, optimal accuracy is achieved in open environments with minimal obstructions.

Supported formats for geographic coordinate collection include:

• Points: Mark specific locations such as your preferred destinations, starting points of activities, or notable sightings like rare birds.
• Lines or Paths: Create sequences of points to delineate trails, routes taken during runs, or outlines of property boundaries. All measurements are provided in both metric and imperial units.
• Areas or Polygons: Define closed regions for purposes such as land acquisition plots, property boundaries, building footprints, or designated construction zones. Measurements are available in metric, imperial, and Thai units.

Methods for coordinate collection include:

• Manual: Position yourself at the desired location and tap the 'MapIt' button to record a coordinate.
• Automatic by Time: Collect coordinates at preset time intervals.
• Automatic by Distance: Gather a coordinate after traveling a defined distance.
• Automatic by Direction: Record a coordinate each time you change your direction beyond a specified angle.

Within the application environment, named iMapIt, visual representation of points, lines, and polygons can be customized through various pin types, colors, strokes, and fill patterns.

The software also supports exporting your spatial data in multiple formats including DXF, KML, GPX, and CSV. These exports can use different projections such as UTM or Gauss Krüger or directly utilize the raw geographic coordinates. Data transfer options encompass email dispatches, direct connections via iTunes with a cable, or uploads to a web server configured to receive such files.

Edit functions allow for modification of recorded surveys through features such as duplication, union operations between existing features, splitting geometries into separate entities, removal of specific coordinates, automatic trimming of extraneous points, and transferring features to different projects.

Please note that all survey data accuracy depends on your device’s GPS capabilities. This application does not employ professional-grade GPS hardware; therefore, measurements may differ from actual dimensions due to device limitations and environmental factors.
